Decorative Tapes

"PrettyTape" looks pretty fun.

Hanna

I treated myself to a birthday rental of Hanna and so enjoyed it.

The score (from The Chemical Brothers), the directing (Joe Wright, who also made Atonement and Pride and Prejudice), and the performances (I always enjoy Kate Blanchett, but Saoirse Ronan is a force).

I recommend the John approach of NOT viewing any trailers and going straight to the real deal.

Madelyn at Dance

First day of point shoes.

Henry's Fish

More driftwood + glue gun art from my nephew, Henry Bickel.

Henry's Bird

Grandma gave Henry a tray of driftwood and a glue gun and then left him alone. He later emerged with this sculpture.

In Honor of World Cup

From the NY Times: Jessica Hilltout, a Belgian-born photographer, drove across Africa for seven months last year to capture the continent's love of soccer in advance of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Her photographs are currently on display in galleries in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Brussels.

Here are a few of her images, but view the full slideshow here.
